Special Joint Meeting with Edina Rotary
Join your Area 3 Rotarians at the Edina Country Club to hear Neel Kashkari, President of the Minneapolis Federal Reserve Bank. Kashkari took office as president and chief executive officer on January 1, 2016. In this role, he serves on the Federal Open Market Committee, bringing the Fed’s Ninth District’s perspective to monetary policy discussions in Washington. In addition to his responsibilities as a monetary policymaker, Kashkari oversees all operations of the bank, including supervision and regulation, and payments services. He is on the Board of the Economic Club of Minnesota and the Twin Cities PBS (TPT) President’s Council. Notably, he oversaw the Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) during the financial crisis of 2008-09. He received the Alexander Hamilton Award for distinguished service (the Treasure Department’s highest honor).
Kashkari earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
